A quick look back at a wild 30 days:
- Shane Takes the Wheel: After buying WCW on Nitro and defeating Vince at WrestleMania X-Seven, Shane declared he is leaving WWF behind to give 100% of his time to rebuilding WCW.
- The 24: On March 30, Johnny Ace secured 24 core contracts from TimeWarner, including Chuck Palumbo, Sean O’Haire, Lance Storm, Mike Awesome, and Stacy Keibler.
- The Cruiserweights: Shane locked in champion Shane Helms, Chavo Guerrero Jr., Jamie Knoble, 3-Count, the Jung Dragons, and Elix Skipper & Kid Romeo to lead a top-tier division.
- Backstage & Referees: Veterans Arn Anderson, Fit Finlay, and Ricky Santana joined as WCW Officials, while Senior Ref Nick Patrick leads the ring crew with Charles Robinson, Billy Silverman & Brian Webber.
- Major Re-Signings: Double Champion Booker T, Diamond Dallas Page, Buff Bagwell, Billy Kidman, Kanyon, and Torrie Wilson have all signed long-term deals.
- New HQ in Charlotte: On April 27, we unveiled our new corporate offices at 1230 West Morehead Street in Charlotte, NC, complete with a production complex and the rebirth of the WCW Power Plant!

TV Deal Talks & May 27 PPV!
Shane McMahon is in active TV talks with major cable networks. While negotiations continue, WCW isn't waiting around—plans are officially locked for a major Pay-Per-View event on Sunday, May 27, 2001!
Expanding the Broadcast Team
Names being targeted by Johnny Ace to join the commentary desk include:
Tony Schiavone, Jerry "The King" Lawler, Joey Styles, Mike Tenay, Larry Zbyszko, Cyrus (Don Callis).
Free Agent Negotiations
WCW is actively pursuing major free agents to stack the roster, including:
Scott Hall, Vampiro, Curt Hennig, Konnan, B.G. James, Terry Funk, Davey Boy Smith, Jim Duggan, Nelson Knight, Juventud Guerrera, Crowbar & Daffney.
The ECW Free Agents
With ECW closing its doors, Shane and Johnny Ace have held initial meetings with several former stars, including:
Rob Van Dam, Sabu, Tommy Dreamer, The Sandman, Steve Corino, Yoshihiro Tajiri, Nova, Little Guido, Jazz, Roadkill & Danny Doring.
