A pioneer who transitioned from the gridiron to the squared circle, Ernie "The Big Cat" Ladd was one of the first true giants of the industry. While he achieved fame in the AFL and captured numerous NWA regional titles, his legacy in WCW is defined by his status as a legendary trailblazer.
In 1994, his immense contributions as both a formidable powerhouse and a respected mentor were recognized when he was inducted into the WCW Hall of Fame at Slamboree. Ladd notably served as a guiding influence for many athletes, including Ron Simmons, helping to shape the future of World Championship Wrestling.
