A lifelong athlete and foundational promoter, Angelo Poffo is best known in WCW as the patriarch of the Poffo wrestling dynasty. While his early career included a run as a top heel across the territories, his WCW tenure was defined by his role supporting his sons, Randy Savage and Lanny Poffo.
He became a key figure in the high-profile 1995 feud between Savage and Ric Flair, famously taking a figure-four leglock from the "Nature Boy" at ringside. In recognition of his massive contributions as a performer and the founder of the ICW promotion, Poffo was inducted into the WCW Hall of Fame at Slamboree 1995.
